Troop 47 is currently involved in many activities in the area. Below you will find a list of some items along with the necessary permission slips that need to be filled out in order to attend the events.



Event: Summer Camp 

When :  July 17 – 23, 2016

Where : Ed Bryant Scout Reservation

Costs: $285 ($100 due April 11, balance due April 25th)

Program Fees : Some camp programs involve additional fees above the general registration fee.

Details :  Summer camp offers many opportunities to have fun, advance towards First Class and work on many merit badges.

Ed Bryant Scout Reservation (EBSR) is the only camp in Wisconsin to offer both ATVs and Jet Skis as part of our summer camp program. This year EBSR is adding a brand new computer lab to increase the effectiveness of their STEM program introduced last summer. Additionally, EBSR is adding a new Field Sports area to offer additional merit badges and inter troop competitions.

Family Night (Friday July 22): Parents and guests are invited to join the unit for Friday’s camp wide dinner, games, and closing campfire. Arrangements should be confirmed by the unit during the Sunday check-in. Troop 47 will have someone available in the parking lot Friday evening to direct guests to registration and ensure that they get checked-in. All dinner guests are charged $8 for dinner.

Event: Kettle Moraine Backpacking 

When :  May 6-8, 2016

Where : Greenbush Camp

Leader:  Mr. Gruetzmacher

Costs: $45

Details :Friday night is spent at the group campground at Greenbush or at Long Lake, with the hike to Long Lake State Park taking place on Saturday morning for those participants that camp at Greenbush. Throughout the event, Badger Trails provides periodic checkpoints and manned road crossings.

Event: Backpack Camporee

When :  April 22-24, 2016

Where : Indian Lake County Park

Leader:  Mr. Gruetzmacher

Costs: $45

Details : Camping weekend for scouts with advanced camping skills. Learn about more advanced camping
skills, and especially skills that are useful for backpacking. This is a backpacking only trip. 2 nights
camping.

Event: New Scout Skills Camp 

When :  April (15) 16-17, 2016

Where : Lions Club House

Leader:  Mr. Gruetzmacher

Costs: $15

Details : Friday night is optional for Scouts looking for an extra camping night.  Also includes Introduction to Leadership Training.  Opportunity for new scouts to complete many camping skills.

Event: Electronics Lock-In 

When :  April 1st, 2016

Where : Our Saviors Lutheran Church 

Leader:  Mr. Gruetzmacher

Costs: $10

Details : Night begins with an emergency exercise for the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge, followed with games and movie. Bring computer games and movies and play them into the night. This will be a good time to meet our newest scouts who just crossed over from cub scouts. 1 night indoor camping.

Event: Scouting for Food (FOOD ITEM COLLECTION)!

When :  March 12th, 2016

Where : Westside Elementary School, 1320 Buena Vista (corner Buena Vista and Walker Way).

PICK UP : Sunshine Place 18 Rickle Road, SP

Leader:  TBD

Costs: $0

Details : Earn SERVICE HOURS!   Bring a good pair of walking shoes, water bottle and dress for the weather.  We will be picking up donated food items and delivering them to the Sunshine Place.

When :  March 12th, 2016 (8:30AM to 12:00 Noon)

Where : Westside Elementary School, 1320 Buena Vista (corner Buena Vista and Walker Way).

Event:  Hanna Winter Resort!

When :  February 12-14,  2016

Where : 5305 Crystal Lake Road, Rhinelander, WI 

Leader:  Mr. Gruetzmacher

Meet:  Friday February 12,  2016 (5PM) at Our Saviors Lutheran Church

Pickup: Sunday February 12,  2016 2:00PM  Our Saviors Lutheran Church

Costs: $55 per person includes meals, camp fee and transportation to/from (Suggest additional $15 for Sunday lunch on way back)

Bring :  

Day and Overnight

• 2 winter hats (one spare), the face mask type is preferred

• 2-3 pairs of mittens (warmer than gloves)

• 2-3 wool or fleece sweaters/sweatshirts
• Winter jacket, preferably parka style or hooded
• 1-2 pairs polypropylene long underwear
• 2 pairs of pants, one of which wool or insulated snow pants, no jeans
• 2-3 pairs of heavy insulated socks, wool or synthetic
• 2-3 pairs of light synthetic liner socks
• 1-2 pairs of warm winter boots
• Sled (optional)

Overnight & Extra Stuff
• Sleeping Bag
• Pillow
• Flashlight
• Water Bottle
• Toothbrush, soap, shampoo, Chap stick, towel, and other toiletries

Details:  The Scouts and parents will have plenty of opportunity to join in the wintery fun.  Below
are the type of activities you can expect:

• Snowshoes
• Snow forts
• Flag Football
